Omid Parhizkar
Omar's work focuses on designing and implementing a results-based management framework. Previously, Omid worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as an Environmental and Climate Change consultant, for over two years where he built up his skills in the area of international private sector business development and developing climate change strategy. Omid has extensive field experience in various regional assignments in Southern Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America in the area of international business development for the private sector and environmental management, working with stakeholders and governmental officials both in the US and internationally.
Omid holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In September 2007, he was honored with the ‘Outstanding Ph.D Candidate of the Year Award’ by the Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources and Environment in recognition for professional research and scientific achievement. In addition to his Ph.D, Omid holds a BS from Tehran University.
