About us
Each year, the Gef Small Grant Programme raises funds to be distributed to organizations , individuals ,developing countries in accordance with our mission and values. Both established nonprofit organizations and emerging community-based organizations have received grants to support the important work they do. To date, almost $197 million in grant funds has been distributed to a wide range of deserving organizations , individuals and developing countries. Grants are awarded through an application process overseen by the GEF Grants Committee, with final selection determined by GEF’s donors. The Council-approved funds are transferred through 18 GEF Agencies to government agencies, civil society organizations, private sector companies, research institutions, among the broad diversity of potential partners, to execute projects and programs in recipient countries.

What We Fund: This year, the GEF will provide unrestricted general operating support. These grant funds can be used for any purpose determined by the grantee and this grant program is completely free and you dont neet to pay back any money recieaved back. We believe that general operating support funds will help to support the grantees’ sustainability, growth, and impact. This year, our process may include site visits, phone conversations, and emails as a follow-up to the application process.
